About the Artist – Carole Warburton

“I enjoy teaching beginning artists to think creatively and to use critical analysis when viewing any piece of art work, no matter what their age or experience range. I want my students to get as excited about creating as I do. Anyone can learn the basic elements of art but learning in an innovative supportive environment allows real growth and the imagination to flourish. My goal as a teacher, student and artist is to support uniqueness and innovation and still honor the integrity of the formal qualities of art. I am passionate about experimentation, growth and improvement in my own art-making.”

Ms. Warburton teaches young artists and adults from her studio (Studio 5 Art) in Temecula, California. She is the former Chair of the Art Department at Bishop Maginn HS in Albany, New York.  Carole holds a Master’s degree from the State University of NY and NYS teaching certification in Art, K-12.  She is a former member of the Schenectady Art Society and the Colonie Art League, both in Upstate New York and a current member of the Dorland Arts Colony as an Associate Artist. Her work is exhibited in galleries and public venues throughout the region.

“I relocated to California from Upstate New York several years ago, I am so happy to be an Associate Artist with Dorland. Interacting with other local artists has been motivating and inspiring. As you can see, although my work has evolved within abstract expressionism.

Exposure to a different landscape and climate has resulted in the creation of a number of new paintings. I prefer to work in oils and charcoal but enjoy the growth that comes from experimenting with new mediums.

Carole currently lives in Temecula, CA. with her partner, John, her Maine Coon, Bonney and her adopted Lhasa Apso, Tizzy,  where her studio is located.
